Jeepers Keepers Hall of Fame

Records | Rules | Draft | Rosters | Hall of Fame

Every five years, Jeepers Keepers franchise owners celebrate their league's rich history by considering inductions to the Jeepers Keepers Hall of Fame. A year prior to the induction vote, the league's Veterans Committee (chaired by Mike Weerts) meets to establish nominees for the Hall of Fame ballot. On election day, owners may vote in support of as many nominees as they deem worthy, but a threshold of 70 percent is required for induction into the Hall.

Currently, the Hall of Fame has no honorees. In 2012, owners voted to induct an inaugural member, but the distinction was later vacated by Executive Order of the Commissioner. The full list of 2012 nominees (excluding the ex-inductee) is offered below.

Chair Weerts reconvened the Veterans Committee prior to the March 2016 draft. (Owners present were Bode, Diekmann, Moore, Dingo and Larson.) The following nine nominees received sufficient support to be included on the 2017 Jeepers Keepers Hall of Fame Ballot:

Crab Dip

If you didn't get to sample this legendary appetizer, initially prepared by another Hall of Fame nominee, you're not alone. You'll have to ask the Dingo how it tasted. (Crab Dip also appeared on the 2012 Hall of Fame ballot.)

Anne Diekmann

The matron saint of Jeepers Keepers fantasy baseball, even if Lyle doesn't understand why. As an added bonus, she has several sisters. (Anne Diekmann also appeared on the 2012 Hall of Fame ballot, but ...)

Lyle's Veto of Anne

Technically, it wasn't a veto. But six owners voted to induct Anne into the Hall of Fame's inaugural class. Guess who was among the four who didn't?

T-Lars' Feelings

We no longer have a Hall of Famer. Tony no longer shares an e-mail account with his spouse.

Mike Aviles

As a fantasy commodity, he's not in Ian Kinsler's caste. That's why Pat Weerts threw in a fourth-round minor league pick.

A. Charles Davis

Six seasons. Two regular-season championships. Three postseason championships. Two Interleague World Series crowns. One abrupt exit after a war of words with the commissioner. Already immortalized (our postseason tournament, the Davis Cup, bears his name), is he HOF worthy?

Foshay Tower

It was once the tallest structure west of the Mississippi, albeit briefly. But they'll never take that away from Old Man Foshay; just as they'll never take away the pair of championships Murphy won during the George W. Bush administration. Both men never tire of counting their money.

Jim's Heating Lamp

That bald head turned into a radish.

Moore's Snide Remarks

Uke used to think they were funny ... until they were directed at him. And then they just hurt.

2012

Nominees appearing on the 2012 Hall of Fame induction ballot, but who failed to receive seven votes, included: Crab Dip, Gretchen Albers, Anne Diekmann, Tony Larson and Rich Guggisberg. Nominees failing to meet the required threshold for inclusion on the 2012 ballot include: Lyle Diekmann's tenure as commissioner, Jarvis Brown, Jim's heating lamp, Mike Weerts, Sandfrog, the Foshay Tower, Scott Kazmir and John R. Stone.
